Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday, held at the San Mames Stadium in Bilboa.

It was a historical moment for the club as they had failed to win any significant club trophy since 1984.

The game was in the favour of the Red’s until Pape Matar Sarr of Spurs fired In the 42nd minute a cross into United’s 18 yard box.

Luke Shaw was unable to neutralize Brennan Johnson’s presence as both scampered for the ball.Johnson had a touch on the ball which deflected on Shaw’s chest into the net.

The match was filled with tension and drama as no team was ready to be subdued. Manchester united were in control of the possession from the beginning of the game, Tottenham focused on their defensive antics as they made United’s attack toothless.

Hojlund header was going for goal when Micky van de Ven of Tottenham acrobatically cleared the ball out.In the 97th minute Vicario saved Like Shaw’s header going for goal.

Alejandro Garnacho was not left out from those that tried their luck on goal, immediately subbed in the Argentina attacker launched an attach on goal which was saved by Vicario.

Rueben Amorims fate remains uncertain as the Europa league final was to be his time for redemption for a horrible season his team had in the premier league. Unfortunately Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham snatched the opportunity.I

ts no doubt Manchester united has improved on their game play,in terms of possession and controlling the tempo of the game.

It would be unfair to say Amorim have not improved the team since assuming office as manager of the team.
The fans and clubs board might not be patient enough to wait for the Portuguese plan for the team.
They would just have to wait..

The victory for Tottenham ends their 17 year trophy drought and automatically secures them a spot in next seasons UEFA champions league.
