PSG went up against the gunners at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday for the first leg of the UEFA champions league semifinals.
The Paris giants were able to snatch a 1-0 win over Arsenal making it the first time the gunners lost to a french side since 2015.
Ousmane Dembele of PSG struck in the 4th minute to give his team early lead .
The first half of the game was mainly dominated by the Paris visitors.
PSG attackers made sure to put Arsenal’s defense under severe pressure, and it was looking as if the gunners had lost their confidence. It took the gunners some time to find their feet in the game and balance intensity.
Substitutions of Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue kind of weakened PSG’s attack as Bradley Barcola and Ramos Gonzalez wasted clear chance.
Bukayo Saka was closely man-marked by PSG defense, he was neutralized to some extent. Nuno Mendes made sure his eyes where on the England player with utmost surveillance.
Arsenal’s left of course was manned by Gabriel Matinelli who was also being mitigated by Achraf Hakimi.
Declan Rice and Lewis Kelly of Arsenal were also outstanding bossing and controlling the midfield.
Arsenal had a fair game, not good enough but they can only motivate themselves to meet at the home of the Paris saint Germaine’s home.
The hope would be on Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta who had termed his team run in the champions league a “beautiful story ”to again prove his master class and turn the game around for his club.
