The Lagos State House of Assembly has resumed plenary, almost a month after Mudashiru Obasa, was controversially removed as the Speaker of the House.

Obasa was removed from office based on allegations of financial misconduct, and abuse of office.

He was conspicuously absent when the house resumed plenary on Thursday with about 36 lawmakers present.

Elders of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos had made efforts to resolve the impasse and during the period raised hopes that Obasa would be returned as Speaker.

However the insistence of majority of the Lawmakers on his removal overruled his reinstatement.

The situation under which the house carries on its business on Thursday indicated that all was over for the embattled former speaker, and Mrs Mojisola Meranda is now fully in control.

The member representing Epe Constituency I Abiodun Tobun commended the economic policy of the Federal Government, saying insecurity in Lagos has been curbed to the barest minimum.

Tobun also moved a motion, asking the House to write a letter of commendation to the presidency for all the impactful initiative introduced by the Federal Government.

On his part, the lawmaker representing Eti-Osa constituency II, Gbolahan

Yishawu, also reeled out various initiatives introduced by the Federal Government, alongside other lawmakers.

Speaker of the House, Mojisola Meranda, joined in applauding President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in his leadership.

According to her, the President has approved loan access for small-scale businesses, and the stock market capitalisation is growing. She noted that these were signs that Nigeria is on the right track.

.She noted that President Tinubu is also making significant investments in security to ensure the safety of Nigerians and also praised First Lady Remi Tinubu for her dedication to national development.
