Barely days after the tragic tanker explosion at Dikko Junction in Suleija. Niger State, which claimed over 100 lives, a video circulating in the social media has shown another tanker fallen in Bida, and people are risking their lives by scooping the spoiled fuel.
The heartbreaking incident in Dikko occurred after individuals rushed to collect fuel from the fallen tanker, leading to a devastating explosion.
Children and adults could be seen in the said video scooping fuel in plastic containers and going to sell the product along the streets.
The video also showed another tanker parked beside the fallen tanker, ostensibly transferring the product into the standing tanker.
The footage showed no presence of FRSC or Firefighting officials. The police were also not present as a large number of persons gathered around the area while vehicles moved carelessly around the place.
Social media user who commented on the video said it appears no lessons were learnt from the Dikko disaster, urging authorities to quickly attend to the situation before another disaster is recorded.
