The nomination of Governor Aiyedatiwa is being challenged by Jimoh Ibrahim, the senator representing Ondo South and a governorship aspirant.

Mr Ibrahim is asking the court to cancel the April 20 primary election of the APC and order for a repeat of the process, arguing that the election process failed to comply with the law.

He has also prayed the court to bar the APC from participating in the coming election unless it conducts a fresh primary election.

Efforts to appease the leaders of the APC to appease the senator failed.
