The campaign of the Nigerian Super Falcons has ended at the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, after losing to England on penalty shootout.

The match had dragged into extra time after both teams failed to score in full time.

Although Nigeria had the better of the match having played against a 10-woman English team through the second half, they failed to covert their chances to goals even after extra time.

Nigeria lost two of its penalties, but England lost only its opening shot to gain the upper hand against Nigeria.
