Afrobeat star, Seun Kuti, has finally surrendered himself to the Lagos State Police Command, following an order for his arrest.

Report says he appeared at the police headquarters on Monday morning for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, Seun came with his lawyers and family members..

Mr Hundeyin told journalists that Seun, the son of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, is now at the State Criminal Investigation Department in the Panti area of the state.

He lso said upon completion of investigation, the police would go ahead with prosecution of the singer, if there was any reasonable ground.

A footage of his assault of a police officer went viral on social media recently, attracting wide condemnation.

Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, had earlier announced the order of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, for arrest of the singer.

Activist lawyer, Femi Falana(SAN) had also announced that he would be defending the singer in court.

He had also hinted that Seun had enough evidence he was exercising his right of self defence.
