Another armed robbery attack on a bullion van in Ore, in Ondo State on Wednesday has claimed the lives of two persons.

 One of the persons is said to be a mobile policeman who was shut by the bandits during the operation.

A similar incident had occurred in Owo about two weeks ago when armed robbers made an attempt to rob a bullion van.

Wednesday’s incident, according to witnesses, occurred  at Costain area, few kilometers from Ore in Odigbo Local Government of the State.

The armed robbers, who had laid ambush, opened fire on the bullion van and the escort van while heading towards Ore.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Aina Yetunde, said the Bullion van was coming from Benin in Edo State heading towards Araromi Ago area before it was attacked.

She said robbers carted away the sums of money being conveyed, but said she could not confirm the amount that was taken away.

She also said  the police were on the trail of the bandits and information gathering was ongoing to enable the police to make the necessary arrest.
