Facts have emerged indicating  how the lawmaker representing Akure South/Akure North federal constituency, Adedayo Omolafe Adedayo met his untimely death.

The lawmaker passed away around 2am on Monday after efforts by medical doctors to restore him failed.

Sources revealed that Mr Omolafw, well known as “Expensive” was at his farm located along Irese road in Akure, Ondo State capital on Sunday morning to inspect works on the farm.

He was said to returned home with a complain of severe headaches.

It was gathered that when the situation became more serious, he had to be taken to a hospital in Akure, where he was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.

Although medical doctors are on strike, it was still unclear if the strike  compromised efforts to save his life.

“Oga was unconscious and rushed to FMC, Owo where he gave up the ghost,” a close source said.

He was also said to have been diagnosed of high blood pressure at the FMC, Owo before he died.

A senior legislative Aide to the lawmaker, Tope Fakinlede, said efforts were made to revive the lawmaker within 30 minutes after he complained of headaches, but that did not yield results.

  Meanwhile, the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu,  has described the news of the death as devastating.

He said the reality was too difficult to accept considering that no news of illness was heard about the late lawmaker before his sudden death.

“Like every mortal, Expensive is gone in fulfillment of the mankind’s inescapable debt,” the governor said.

“It is painful that such a bright star is gone too soon. For our dear State, this is a big blow dealt by the ugly sting of death. It is a devastating tragedy.”

Governor Akeredolu also said the late Adedayo was committed to the service of his people, having served as an elected Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area in 2004 and subsequently achieving his desire to represent his people at the National Assembly.

The Ondo State House of Assembly his also mourned the lawmaker, describing his death as a great loss to the legislature and the nation at large.

The assembly described Mr Omolafe as an astute politician who wielded a great influence among his people and political associates.
