A former governorship aspirant  of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Godwin Maduka, has emerged as the governorship candidate of Accord party ahead of the November 6 Anambra State gubernatorial polls.

Mr Maduka was unveiled during a press conference held at his campaign office in Awka on Thursday.

The Anambra State chairman of Accord party, Bartholomew Igwedibia, while presenting him to party supporters, said that Mr Maduka’s candidature offered  the Accord the opportunity to take over the Government House in  Awka come November 6.

He said that the party has quality men and women in all the nooks and crannies of the state who would deliver on ensuring victory during the election.

Mr Igwedibia however solicited the support of Maduka’s campaign organization to actualize the dream.

Mr Maduka, flanked by his running mate, Ken Obi, said he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) two years ago when he decided to run for the guber election.

I left my former party PDP because of the way the primary was conducted where the list of delegates was changed three times in the middle of the game”, Mr Maduka said.

He expressed optimism that many people in other political parties would cast their votes for him on November 6 because of his contributions in the making of governors and other political office holders.

Alex Nwankwo had earlier emerged as the Accord Party candidate when it held it’s primaries in June.

Maduka said he focus on social welfare, security, women empowerment, trade and investment if elected as governor of Anambra State.

“I will run an inclusive government when elected. Every gender will be ably represented to work together to give Anambra the desired governance,” he said.
