Nigeria on Wednesday recorded its highest daily infection of Covid-19 infection since the wake of the third wave, with a figure of 747.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC), four new deaths were also recorded.

This is also the highest daily infection figure in more than six months.This has raised the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 176,011 and total death figure is 2,167.

The cases still on admission are 8,626 while 165,208 people have recovered from the infection.

In Wednesday’s development, 13 states reported the infection and the FCT.

Lagos reported 488 cases; Akwa Ibom, 121; Oyo, 29; Rivers, 25; Ogun, 15; FCT 13; Kaduna 13; Kwara, 11; Ekiti,10; Osun, 10; Edo, 6; Abia, 3; Anambra, 2 and Plateau 1.

NCDC says it has tested over 2.5 million samples out of its estimated 200 million population.
